ART CLASSES FOR CHILDREN

              ART Class Schedule for 2009-2010

   2nd WEEK OF SEPTEMBER THROUGH LAST WEEK OF MAY
NEW PRESCHOOL/KINDERGARTEN CLASS BEGINNING IN JANUARY!

  •  Advanced Classes:

    Expand on drawing, sculpting and painting fundamentals.  Begin studies of famous artist’s works and techniques.  Learn about art careers through various art projects.  Students may also be involved in such projects as creating a claymation movie or a mock business to help introduce them to various art careers.

     Tuesdays:  4:00 - 5:30 p.m.     (Instructor approval required)

  • Beginning Classes:

    Learn the basics of drawing through the use of such mediums as pencils, charcoal, pastels, and pen & ink.  Students will also begin basic clay sculpting and acrylic painting.  Begin studying famous artists and their style of art.  Concepts such as the color wheel, proportion, perspective, and distance will be studied.  Introduce art from various locations and cultures in the world.

    Thursdays:  4:00 - 5:30 p.m  

  • Preschool/Kindergarten Classes:

    This class is designed to give these young students an opportunity to express their art in a fun atmosphere while also learning some of the basics of art.  They will study techniques relating to color, form and lines.  This will be accomplished using paint, clay, charcoal and other such mediums throughout the classes. 

     

     Thursdays:  2:30 - 3:30 p.m.   

Cost:

Tuition includes all supplies and tools and is due the 1st class of each month ($5 late fee assessed per month for late tuition).   

  • $56.00 for a 4-week month
  • $70.00 for a 5-week month
  • $25.00 one-time fee for art kit - not required for Preschool class
  • $15.00 annual registration fee  (due fall registration)

  • Preschool class - $32.00 for 4-week
  • Preschool class - $40.00 for 5-week

Family discount

  • 2 children – deduct 10% from total tuition
  • 3 children – deduct 15% from total tuition
